Travel Medical Insurance:
(MUST include helicopter evacuation and treks over 4000 meters or over 10,000 feet)
We REQUIRE that everyone has travel medical insurance, available from your local medical insurer or from some of the companies listed below. Also search on Google as there are many companies out there.

Some suggestions:
http://www.imglobal.com/
http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com/
http://www.healthcareinternational.com/
http://file://Node7/G/www.travelinsured.com/
http://www.globalunderwriters.com/
http://www.insuremytrip.com/
http://www.mnui.com/

Everyone should have a hard-copy (just a photocopy of the policy number, phone number to contact from overseas and company name) of your travel medical insurance, which must include helicopter rescue and trekking over 4000 meters. The copy will be left in KTM with Lhakpa’s wife, Lhakpa Doma, who will handle and helicopter rescue in case of emergency. Keep the policy details with you, just one sheet of paper with the essentials, and include your full names, addresses overseas, phone numbers of contacts overseas, please. And one copy of your PP information page.

Visas
Nepal & Tibet
For Nepali visas, you’ll need $30 in foreign currency, and a visa size photo. Visas available at the airport, but if you already have yours, skip the line. We’ll have your Chinese Visa and Tibet Permit for you when you arrive (we’ll take your passports for a day to get them).
India
You need to get your visa BEFORE arriving in India. Go to the Indian consulate or embassy nearest you, or often your travel agent can arrange a visa for you. For Americans, a 10-year visa is available in San Francisco, perhaps at other consulates as well.
